With over 30 years’ experience in the civil testing industry, our team has worked on a diverse range of projects across New Zealand and internationally.
Benkelman beam testing is a cost-effective means of testing conformance on new construction or testing short lengths of existing roads to determine the areas that require rehabilitation treatment.
Kiwa Construction Sciences has two purpose-built Benkelman Beam Testing trucks in operation to service your projects from Northland and Auckland down to the Bay of Plenty, Waikato, and the Taupo region. We are certified to perform the Benkelman beam test and have experienced engineering staff to provide you with accurate data. Please contact us if you would like more information.

Our technicians are experts at conducting tailored and specialised tests to address potential issues in all sorts of unique and unpredictable environments. By determining the mix of sand, silt or clay in the soil, we can establish the predicted behaviour of the soil for water retaining structures and landfill leachate containment systems to ensure that the designs are all set for safe operations.
Kiwa Construction Sciences specialty testing includes:

The level of compaction of soil or aggregate in Civil Engineering applications is determined by density and water content testing. An NDM test is a rapid, repeatable way of determining moisture density, water content, void ratio, and air voids. It is especially useful for density and moisture testing in soils, aggregates and asphalts down to a depth of 300mm.
Kiwa Construction Sciences has several NDM testing devices available so please contact us to discuss how we can help you with your project in Auckland, the Waikato, or Bay of Plenty.

Soil testing measures strength and compressibility properties for the design of foundations, slopes and embankments according to New Zealand Transport Authority standards. The Dynamic Cone Penetrometer (DCP) is used to determine the penetration resistance of a soil and is an extremely useful tool for profiling soil strength at depth. Where DCP testing is undertaken, safety-enhanced equipment is used to support safe and efficient field operations.
Aggregate testing delivers enhanced integrity and reliability of results. It provides size, shape and density analysis as well as strength and durability testing to ensure compliance of aggregates for your construction project. By using the Comply LIMS system and quality control software, we can provide the high-quality information you need in a timely manner.
