Quarry Materials Testing

As Australia’s largest provider of Construction Materials Testing, our unique business model ensures construction materials are tested comprehensively from quarry inception to site project completion. This is why Construction Sciences is trusted most by engineers and construction clients with the confidence to promptly test and deliver results for projects.

Construction Sciences provides aggregate testing to ensure the material specified is suitable for use in the production of concrete, and in the construction of road/rail base and drainage applications. Aggregates are coarse to medium-grained particulate material mined in quarries and consist of sand and gravel used to produce concrete aggregates, and crushed rock, sands and gravels, pavement materials, base and sub-base for road, civil and site works.

Many of our Construction Sciences laboratories across Australia adjoin quarries that mine these aggregates. Our experienced team of onsite lab technicians and specialists work on behalf of quarry operators to provide dedicated aggregate testing and rock strength tests with a consistent daily performance output and high level of reliability.

Our aggregate testing includes: particle size distribution, particle density and water absorption, particle shape, wet/dry strength, ACV, 10% fines, durability, soundness, Los Angeles abrasion, CBR, contaminants, weak particles, and Washington degradation.
