Golden Shovel Award Winner Announced 2023

Construction Sciences’ Melbourne Laboratory Manager Jessica Kubeckis has won the 2023 Golden Shovel Award, a prize presented each year to recognise outstanding employees.

As the 2023 winner Jessica Kubeckis receives the Golden Shovel trophy and an all-expenses paid company trip to the United States, where she will travel with 2022 winners Wade Els and Ronan Woods this year for a week with colleagues from Kiwa Group partner company, Raba Kistner.

Jessica joined Construction Sciences from Holcim in a non-technical role and has consistently upskilled to advance her career. Jess worked with the concrete lab team in compression testing, trial mix lab, as well as field testing. Jess completed her Diploma, before a transition into concrete allocation, management support, and eventually into her current role as Laboratory Manager – Sunshine West, Melbourne Victoria.

Jess is a highly respected team member within the Melbourne business unit and takes great pride in supporting and mentoring new staff joining her concrete team. She prioritises safety and leads by example to ensure everyone goes home safe at the end of their shift.

Jess works tirelessly to ensure we meet our client’s turnaround times and expectations, keeping them up to date with the progress of testing, while having a solid understanding of the various requirements for each client.

Jessica’s Golden Shovel Award win recognises her valued contribution to the workplace, teamwork focus and professional dedication.
