Project Description:
The M12 Motorway is a vital infrastructure project designed to provide direct access to the Western Sydney International Airport at Badgerys. Spanning 16 kilometres, the four-lane motorway will feature interchanges at the M7 Motorway, Elizabeth Drive, and the airport entry via the M12 Airport Access Road. Additionally, the project includes new bridges over major waterways and roads, local access roads, pedestrian and cycling links, and control centre facilities.
This motorway is part of the NSW Government’s Western Sydney Infrastructure Plan (WSIP), aimed at boosting connectivity, reducing congestion, and supporting the region’s economic growth.
The central pavement package covers a 7.5-kilometre section from Badgerys Creek to Duff Road, Cecil Hills, and will ensure the seamless flow of traffic to and from the new airport.
Our Role:
Our Role: Construction Sciences was awarded the Construction Materials Testing contract for the central pavements package of the M12 Motorway project. These services are vital to ensuring that materials used for the pavements, bridges, and associated infrastructure meet high quality and durability standards.
This project targets an ‘Excellent’ Infrastructure Sustainability Council rating by reusing and recycling 95% of excavated materials, using 40% recycled aggregates for the sub-base layers, and minimizing on-site water use.
