Project Description:
The Princes Highway East Upgrade – Kilmany – Stage 3 is the final phase of an infrastructure project improving safety and travel efficiency through Victoria’s Gippsland region. This 5.1-kilometre duplication in Kilmany will ease congestion and deliver faster, safer journeys for more than 15,000 motorists each day.
The works include the construction of a 95-metre single-span steel arch rail bridge, installed using a slide-in method to minimise rail disruptions. The project also delivers three upgraded intersections, three waterway crossings, and a dedicated service road for safer access to the local community.
Community and stakeholder management was a key priority on this project, along with outstanding environmental sustainability outcomes delivered through protected native vegetation and waterways, and an Australian construction industry first – a solar-powered site compound.
Our Role:
Construction Sciences has been engaged to deliver construction materials testing services for the Princes Highway East Upgrade – Kilmany – Stage 3. Our team is supporting the duplication works through laboratory testing of pavement materials, concrete, and aggregates to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards. Working alongside contractors and engineers, we are contributing to the safe and timely delivery of this key transport infrastructure upgrade.
