Project Description:

Transgrid’s EnergyConnect project is a new electricity interconnector linking the grids of New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria. Delivery is staged across SA and NSW and includes new high voltage transmission lines along with major substation works at Buronga and Wagga Wagga, plus a new Dinawan substation near Coleambally. The route connects key nodes including Robertstown, Buronga and Wagga Wagga, with a connection at Red Cliffs.

The interconnector enables two-way power flows, strengthens reliability and security across the National Electricity Market, and supports integration of renewable energy zones identified by the Australian Energy Market Operator. EnergyConnect is designated Critical State Significant Infrastructure and forms part of AEMO’s Integrated System Plan for a more sustainable energy future.

Our Role:

Construction Sciences is providing concrete testing services across selected EnergyConnect work packages, verifying materials quality and compliance throughout construction in line with project specifications and standards.
