Construction Sciences has taken a major step forward in how we formally recognise technical talent, gaining certification as a Registered Training Organisation (RTO 46450) and enrolling our first cohort of trainees in the nationally recognised Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques (MSL40122).
As an enterprise RTO we’re delivering practical training and assessment in our laboratories by some of the most experienced people in the industry It’s training is built around the work our technicians actually do.
The launch marks the culmination of years of investment in structured training, mentorship and quality systems. We’re strengthening our commitment to developing skilled CMT technicians internally, with training built into our labs’ daily operations and aligned with Australian Standards, NATA requirements, and the projects we support nationwide.
As an enterprise RTO, we’re able to:
• Deliver formal nationally recognised training and assessment which supports the work our technicians perform daily.
• Provide opportunity for individuals to access an AQF qualification through nationally recognised pathways.
As the premier employer in the CMT industry we’re able to:
• Provide a clear, structured career pathway from day one, backed by nationally recognised qualifications.
• Mentor the next generation of technicians through the experience of our most senior staff.
Our long-term ambition is simple: to be the go-to organisation for CMT training and upskilling in Australia, and to develop not just competent technicians, but exceptional ones.
The first cohort of trainees are now enrolled and undertaking their studies across our laboratory network. Each brings a different background to the role, but all share the same pathway into construction materials testing, a field that underpins the safety, durability and quality of Australia’s infrastructure.
Construction Sciences operates from more than 50 laboratories across Australia and New Zealand, and is a proud member of the global Kiwa group. Launching as a registered training organisation shows our commitment to building technical capability from within, supporting our people, our clients, and the broader CMT industry.
