Next year our partner companies SureSearch, Trilab will be making an appearance at the International Conference on Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering in Sydney and Geochempet will exhibiting at the International Quarry Association conference in Newcastle.
The theme for ICSMGE 2022 is “A Geotechnical Discovery Downunder – Geotechnical Diversity Awaits You” and will focus on the application of theory and the discovery that comes when world-class minds are focussed on the geotechnical problems facing our world. The conference program and technical sessions reflect this emphasis on applications, and are designed to trigger collaboration, innovation and discovery from a diverse group of participants.
In its 63rd year, the IQA 2022 conference theme: Re-Think, Re-Source, Re-Engage is designed to incorporate the significant learnings the extractive and associated industries can take from successfully operating during the COVID-19 pandemic period and the growth opportunities that lie ahead as economic recovery strategies are put in place. The program will focus on the future and what ‘the new norm’ might mean for our industry moving forward:
- Re-Think– new technology, sustainability, change management, regulation, innovation and re-thinking our approaches to business and operations.
- Re-Source – access to materials, economic development and our social licence to operate underpin how the industry will move forward. Exploring innovations in recycling and waste management in future operations will be the focus here.
- Re-Engage – realising the importance of people and the workforce in the future. How do we manage the human aspects of business with our people, customers, suppliers and community?
Both events were postponed from last year but will be a good opportunity to bring together industry professionals and learn first hand about what lies ahead for the future of our industries post pandemic.
