Construction Sciences has added a compact Kanga drill, nicknamed Bluey, to our Environment fleet to support investigations in tight and regulated settings. The unit is configured for Queensland Rail electrified territory and includes a mechanical height limiter, which helps crews work within corridor rules while maintaining safe clearances.
In practice, Bluey closes a common gap in fieldwork: access. Its small footprint and tight turning radius let teams work in locations that larger rigs cannot reach, including indoor or low-clearance areas and narrow easements. The platform supports both geotechnical and environmental scopes. Bulk sampling and contamination sampling can be carried out in the same mobilisation.
If height and space are not an issue, our 4WD-mounted GeoProbe remains the primary option. It provides drilling to about 6 m and recovery of undisturbed soil samples suitable for contamination assessments and acid sulfate soil investigations.
